Squaring up an 8x10 white fir timber using a hand-held rip saw took about 1.5 hours of non-intensive sawing. I didn't have a power-driven blade large enough to do the job, and the hand saw worked just fine, maybe even more accurately, than I would have achieved otherwise. It was also a pretty relaxing meditative activity. Working to a squared pencil line on alternating sides, the saw stayed in alignment. This will become a fountain eventually.
